Last week we had a super session in the studio with entrepreneur CF. CF had a complete day in our studio starting with Strawberries and champagne while our stylist Brenda E. worked on some Top Model worthy hair and makeup for her.
CF’s session included 11 different looks, her stylist on set with her all day for touch up’s and to change her hair and makeup to go along with each new look. Shadow Boudoir also partnered with the amazing Nan and Alexis from Classic Filmworks who captured the day for our her on video. Our session ended with a spectacular sunset and swimsuit photos worthy of Sports Illustrated.

Think outside the box for your session! San Diego Boudoir Photographer
Every now and then I am so thankful to be presented with sessions that challenge me creatively, photographically, and personally. These are the things that help me so much in my every day life as well as with the work I do every day.
While this session I will admit is a bit over the top and not something for everyone, it represents thinking of and using elements that are uniquely you, or maybe something you have always dreamed of doing or being… now is your chance!
For Weddings, Engagements, Boudoir, Family, any type of session really, when we can use significant elements of someones life, heart and soul, the outcome is amazing. It is always all about letting you be you, and then we add our artistic vision and voila!
Thursday last week I had the opportunity to work with a wonderful lady, Melanie. Melanie and I met in May of 2006 when she was a bridesmaid in a wedding we shot. That day we connected and talked about her work with wildlife rescue animals and how much fun it would be to do a session together with her and the animals. Last week that day finally came and we were all beyond excited when we heard the list of animals Melanie was bringing with her. The list included a 6 Foot Alligator named “Spike”, a Kangaroo “Gyra” a Python and a Bald Eagle. Spike of course had everyone a bit worried, but after a while our assistants and stylists were ok with him, me… not so much. I was TERRIFIED. I am the girl that screams and jumps aside when one of those little lawn lizards runs past me, can you imagine how I felt with Spike? It was a challenge for sure for me to work with him, and yes… I did jump up on a chair a few times when he made his was across the floor towards me. At the end of the shoot I did kind of pet him while standing waaaay behind him. For me.. I overcame a big fear, now those little lawn lizards just make me giggle ;o) And look at that, I can shoot while terrified!
Also at the studio that day to work with Melanie and her animals was San Diego Model Yonah Eveline. Yonah and I had done a shoot a few weeks before and I had mentioned the Alligator to her and she was all about doing a session with him to. We were so thankful Melanie agreed to share the spotlight with Yonah that day.
This was one adrenaline packed fun-filled day… and a HUGE thank you to our stylists for the day… Brenda E and Marqui, my assistants Lori and Jennie. couldn’t have done it without you ladies!

Last week we received an email from a advertising designer asking for permission to use one of our Pin-up images for a logo for a group called Pinups against Cancer. After looking a bit into the group we were more than happy to grant them usage permission on this image AND have also offered to donate $5.oo from each of our Pinup sessions to help them in their fight to find cures for cancer.

Shadow Boudoir’s first Ladies Night Out! ~ San Diego Boudoir Photography

WOW… did we ever have a great time at our first Shadow Boudoir Ladies Night Out!
This was our first of many Ladies Night out events. Shadow Boudoir will be hosting a Ladies Night Out party the last Thursday of the month in July, October, and January, with the BIG Spring event again in April 2012. Be sure to …. Save The Date!
For the rest of this years Ladies Night Out events we will be hosting smaller events, but will have some really fun companies stopping by to do demos for all of you. We have some fun ideas in mind, and would love to hear your ideas too!

All the models ~ Erika, Melissa, Courtney, Millie and Lauren, you all did a FANTASTIC job! On a super fun note, our model Courtney, the model with the short dark hair, we met first when she came to us for a boudoir session. Lori and I were so impressed with her that we were sure she had modeled before. She hadn’t but had always wanted to. Because of the confidence she gained at her Boudoir session, she went to the tryouts in San Diego for Americas Next Top Model… and actually got a callback! I LOVE the impact we have on peoples lives at the studio. Courtney, we are soooo proud of you, and can’t wait to see you with Tyra!

Our stylist Brenda, will work with you on your hair and makeup to achieve that perfect super model look. We have also partnered with San Diego Model, and Director of Blew Print Modeling, Yonah Eveline, who will be holding Super Model training classes once a month in our studio. Yonah will be teaching you some great modeling do’s and dont’s for your session, and how to pose and let your inner confidence shine in front of the camera!
